Setup (NZ) Prescription Features

Enter DC Registration Number

Each Provider must have their NZ Dental Council Registration number entered in Providers page to use the feature. 
  1. Click the navigation menu > Management > Provider page
  2. Select the relevant Provider from the Provider drop list
  3. Enter the number in the DC Registration No field

Surgery Details

The following details automatically input on the prescription and are therefore a requirement. 
  1. Click the navigation menu > Location Setup > Location page
  2. Ensure the Address and Phone 1 are entered to use this feature

Medication List

Pre populate a list of commonly prescribed medications. 
Note: New Medications can also be added to the list at time of prescription writing
  1. Click the navigation menu > Location Setup > Fast Notes page
  2. Notes Group: Medication List
  3. Provider: Select either For All Providers or an individual in the list
  4. Click ADD and enter the medication details

Setup Security

Mandatory security has been added by default. We recommend that only Providers have the ability/access to use Computerised Prescriptions. 
  1. Click the navigation menu > Location Setup > Security page
  2. In the Users sub-tab select the Provider
  3. Click Patients under Modes/Actions
  4. Tick Manage Prescriptions

Using (NZ) Prescription Features

Once the Setup Prescriptions Features above is complete you are able to commence using Computerised Prescriptions

Create Prescription

  1. Click the navigation menu > Patients > Any Patients page 
  2. Miscellaneous toolbar > Create Prescription
  3. Within the Prescription window:
    1. Click APPLY MEDICATION

      1. Tick the medications to include (maximum of four (4) per prescription sheet)
      2. Click ADD if a new medication is required to be added to the list
      3. Click OK

    2. Back in the Prescription window the selected medication(s) is now visible
    3. Click PRINT

      1. Fill out any other required fields manually
      2. Sign the Prescription before handing to the patient

View Previous Prescriptions for a Patient

The prescription can be viewed after it has been created and printed. 
Alert
  1. A prescription cannot be deleted after it has been printed.
  2. A prescription cannot be reprinted. If a second course of medication is required, create a second, identical prescription.
  3. Prescriptions are not merged when merging a patient’s file.
  4. The Create  Prescription / View  Prescription  options  in the  Miscellaneous toolbar can  be  accessed from all pages within Patient pages 
  1. Miscellaneous toolbar > View Prescriptions
  2. Type notes/comments in the Comments field
  3. Click PRINT/PREVIEW for a list of prescriptions for the selected patient
