General Settings for Group "Automation" in Dental4Windows

Listed below are the general settings for the group Automation. Note that the settings listed here may not be in the same order in Dental4Windows

Where to find the General Setting

Go to Location Setup > General tab > select the Group: Automation

Settings

Activate Automation Feature

Automation allows Appointment reminders, Recalls reminders, Queries or promotion communication and Debtors reminders to be sent out automatically on a set schedule using various different communication methods such as SMS and/e-mail. Once this is initially set up there is minimal effort required to manage these reminders. Automation is also customisable so if only Appointment reminders and Recall reminders are to be sent automatically, Queries and Debtor reminders can still be managed manually. 

1. Turn on Automation: Yes                                                                                            
1. Click OK to below message                                                                                                 
2. Restart (close and open) D4W

 The Automation module can be found in Location Management > Automation tab

Network path to templates for Automation mail merge feature

When creating E-mail and Letter templates, the Path to the templates folder needs to be specified. 

This is usually in a shared folder on the server.

1. Network path to templates for Automation mailmerge feature:
   
1. Example: \\server\Data\SharedData\Template\AutoTemplate

Consult an IT Technician or our Support department if assistance is required.

Set Automation Appointment Reminders, Recalls, Queries and Debtors E-mail Send Method

If using Automation for Appointment Reminders, Recalls, Queries and/or Debtors the e-mail send method should be selected.

1. Send Automation emails as
1. File Attached RTF: The letter is sent as a file attached to the e-mail (not recommended)
   
2. HTML format: The letter will be sent in the body of the e-mail (recommended)
