The Appointment book has many other features including adding breaks 

Insert individual breaks into Appointment book

The following individual break can be used when a (one off) break is required. These breaks are created directly into the specific date & time slot required.

To add regular breaks into templates, see topic: Insert Regular Breaks into Appointment Template
  1. Click the navigation menu > Appointments
  2. Right click on required appointment time slot
  3. Insert new > Break

    1. Select Start at, End at and Duration
    2. Choose background colour, Text colour, Work time, Important Information from the drop lists
    3. Click OK
