Listed below are instructions on how to create appointments for new or existing patients with Emirates ID card and how to verify and mark an appointment as arrived. 

Create an Appointment for a New Patient with Emirates ID Card

The Emirates ID Card is an identity card issued by the United Arab Emirates Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. 

It contains personal data of the holder and is used to enter a patient's details into Dental4Windows. The Patient's information is inserted directly from the card.

  1. Go to the Appointment Book
  2. Right click in an empty appointment slot > Insert new > Select Appointment for Patient
  3. Click Use UAE Card

  4. If the card details do not match with a patient record in D4W the following window will appear:

  5. Click OK, the patient's details will appear in the Appointment for Patient - Enter new Patient tab

  6. Enter additional details as required and click OK to create the patient record and appointment

Create an Appointment for an existing Patient with Emirates ID Card

The Emirates ID Card is an identity card issued by the United Arab Emirates Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. 

It contains personal data of the holder and is used to verify a patient's details in Dental4Windows. If there is a change in the Patient's personal information, this can be updated directly from the card

  1. Go to the Appointment Book
  2. Right click in an empty appointment slot > Insert new >Select Appointment for Patient
  3. Click Use UAE Card

  4. If the card details partially or fully match with a patient record in D4W the following window will appear:

    1. Add from Card: Details from the card will be loaded into the Appointment for Patient - Enter new Patient tab. A new appointment and patient will be created.
    2. Select: Details from the card will be loaded into the Appointment for Patient - Find an Existing Patient tab. A new appointment will be created using the existing patient details within Dental4Windows
    3. Select and Update: Details from the card will be loaded into the Appointment for Patient - Find an Existing Patient tab. A new appointment will be created using the existing patient, and the details will be updated using details from the card

    4. Click OK to create the appointment

Verify Patient and Mark Appointment as Arrived with Emirates ID Card

The Emirates ID Card is an identity card issued by the United Arab Emirates Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. 

It contains personal data of the holder and is used to verify a patient's details in Dental4Windows. If there is a change in the Patient's personal information, this can be updated directly from the card.

  1. Go to the Appointment Book
  2. Right click on an appointment slot > Verify and Arrive Patient

  3. If the card details partially match with a patient record in D4W the following window will appear:

    1. Arrive: The appointment is marked as Arrived and the patient's details in D4W are not updated
    2. Arrive and Update: The appointment is marked as Arrived and the patient's details are updated with the details from the card
  4. If the card details fully match with a patient record in D4W the following window will appear:

    1. Arrive: The appointment is marked as Arrived and the patient's details in D4W are not updated
    2. Arrive and Update: The appointment is marked as Arrived and the patient's details are updated with the details from the card
