Working with Autoclave Cycles & Steri Packs in Dental4Web
Once all the Setup of the Sterilisation module & its features are complete, you are able to:
- Record successful and failed cycles for record keeping
- Allocate sterilisation packs to patient treatment

Autoclave cycles are found in the navigation menu > Management > Sterilisation page
Enter an Autoclave Cycle
Each cycle - successful and/or failed - must be entered into the Sterilisation module for accurate record keeping.
- Select the autoclave to add the cycle against from the Autoclave drop list

- Add a cycle ID or keep the auto entered ID
- Click Tab key to generate the autoclave pack
- Enter the Bar Code from you pack label
- Click Scan (or type in the Bar Code number if no scanner available)
- Scan the relevant barcodes on the packs
- Contents: Select the pack contents (this list was created during Setup stage)

Find an Autoclave Cycle
When many cycles exist, it is difficult to find a particular one. Use the search function to do this.
Not all details found within the search field must be entered, however the more detail, the easier it will be to find.
- Select the search field:
- Enter the text to search.
- The text can be anything from the columns within the Sterilisation page
- Click [x] to clear the search

Edit an Autoclave Cycle
Once a cycle has been entered, if changes are needed, it can be edited.
- Select the autoclave to edit the cycle against from the Autoclave drop list
- Highlight the Autoclave Cycle field to be edited
- in most cases yellow fields are editable by either a drop list to select from or freehand notes
- Make changes

Delete an Autoclave Cycle
If a cycle has been incorrectly entered, it may be deleted if no packs have been allocated to patients.
- Select the autoclave to edit the cycle against from the Autoclave drop list
- Autoclave Cycles
- Select the cycle from the list
- Click Delete icon

If a cycle has failed. DO NOT delete it. Passed = N
Sterilisation Packs
Allocate a Sterilisation Pack to a Patient
When using a pack on a patient, the pack is added to the Treatment page, allowing sterilisation tracking.
- Click the navigation menu > Patients > Treatment page
- Enter the Steri item number
- Open the clinical notes by clicking in the Nt field in the selected row
- The Sterilisation Notes open automatically
- If you have a scanner:
- Click Scan
- Scan the pack(s) used on this patient
- Click OK
- If you do not have a scanner:
- Type in the Bar Code from your pack
- Select the contents of the pack if they do not appear automatically
- Click OK

- Click Print icon if Pack Usage printout is required
- Click Delete icon if this pack is to be deleted from the Patient Treatment
- Click OK
