Listed below are how to launch Practice Analytics from Dental4Windows, view treatment plan items, treatment plans, invoiced production, appointment cancellations, new patients from first seen date and what if.
Practice Analytics: Launching Practice Analytics from Dental4Windows
Practice Analytics can be launched three ways from Dental4Windows.
- From the main Control Panel click PracticeAnalytics

- Go to Go To menu > Run PracticeAnalytics
- Within any module in D4W, click the Practice Analytics icon

Practice Analytics: What If
What If can be used to calculate an estimate of adjusted income if Item Fees are increased and/or additional Providers are performing the Treatment.
This is calculated on current income and is intended as an estimate only.
Run the Report
- Click Item Fee and Providers under the WhatIf menu

- Set the Period, Location and Provider to base the calculation on and click Apply

- Use the slider bars to increase or decrease the Item Fee and/or Provider

- The Adjusted Revenue and Increase/Decrease is displayed in the table

Practice Analytics: View Treatment Plans Items
A table can be created in the New Patients KPI report in Practice Analytics to show the number of Items used in Treatment Plans created.
Run the Report
- Click Treatment Plans Items under the KPI menu

- Remove current headings if not applicable by dragging and dropping to the heading list.
- To build this KPI table, click and drag the below headings:
Tx Plan ID (Count): The number of times the Item is used in Treatment Plans
Item Code: The Item number used in the Treatment Plan
Treatment Plan Date: Date of the Treatment Plan
Filter data
Data can be filtered anywhere this icon
is found. When a filter has been applied to a heading, the filter icon will turn to blue.
- Click on the filter icon and select the dates you want to show

- Click OK

- Click Drill Down to see more information


Views
The format of the table can be saved in a View. This means the format of the table above is saved.
- Click Views
- Click
to add a View
- Enter the name of the View and click Update
- Click Save View
Export Data
- Click Export to Excel icon (top right corner)

- Click KPI Table or Drill Down Table
- Choose location of the file to be saved in
- Enter a File Name
- Click Save
Practice Analytics: View Treatment Plans
A table can be created in the New Patients KPI report in Practice Analytics to show the Treatment Plans created.
Run the Report
- Click Treatment Plans under the KPI menu
- Remove current headings if not applicable by dragging and dropping to the heading list.
- To build this KPI table, click and drag the below headings:
Treatment Plan Total Fee: The total value of the Treatment Plan
Treatment Plan ID: The ID of the Treatment Plan
Treatment Plan Type: The type of Treatment Plan (e.g. Completed, Incomplete, New)
Treatment Plan Date: The date of the Treatment Plan
Filter data
Data can be filtered anywhere this icon
is found. When a filter has been applied to a heading, the filter icon will turn to blue.
- Click on the filter icon and select the dates you want to show
- Click OK

Practice Analytics: View Invoiced Production
A table can be created in the Invoiced Production KPI report in Practice Analytics to show the value of invoices raised.
Run the Report
- Click Invoiced Production under the KPI menu
- Remove current headings if not applicable by dragging and dropping to the heading list.
- To build this KPI table, click and drag the below headings:
Net Production: The value of invoices raised
Cash Payments: Receipts created with the Cash payment method
Other Payments: Receipts created with other payment methods
Provider: The Provider that created the invoice

- Click on the filter icon and select the dates you want to show

- Click OK

A table can be created in the Appointment Cancellations KPI report in Practice Analytics to show the appointments that have been cancelled and the reason.
Run the Report
- Click Appointment Cancellations under the KPI menu
- Remove current headings if not applicable by dragging and dropping to the heading list.
- To build this KPI table, click and drag the below headings:
No Px: The number of new cancelled appointments
Appointment Book: The name of the Appointment Book
Cancel Reason: The cancellation reason
