Second Opinion Functions for MediaWeb PACS users

Overview

To open Second Opinion from MediaWeb PACS:
  1. Launch MediaWeb PACS from Dental4Web

  2. Within MediaWeb PACS, there are 2 options:
    1. Select AI TOOLS > Second Opinion from the IMAGES page
    2. Once an user has selected an individual Xray
      Select  AI Tools Second Opinion

  3. This opens a new browser tab “Second Opinion Viewer”…
  4. The MediaWeb PACS interface area is found on the left (outlined in green); the remainder is the Pearl viewer

  5. Click Greyscale to view x-rays
  6. Click RGB to view any colour image (e.g. a colour note or annotation

  7. The year in view shows the number of processes/failed/in progress/total images
  8. The Checkbox can be ticked to indicate all images to be sent to AI

  9. View the same information as the year option above, for a study

  10. The green outer frame indicates that the AI results have been delivered
  11. The yellow internal frame indicates the currently active/open image


  12. The   icon is visible once image has been sent and displays status information for the image from Second Opinion

Toolbar Functions

Various tools are available in the Native Second Opinion side toolbar. All view adjustments apply to the current viewing session only and are not permanently saved.

Ruler

  1. Click Ruler icon to activate
  2. Click starting point on the image and move the curser to desired measurement area
  3. Click again to end the measurement
  4. Click Ruler icon again to remove measurement and deactivate the tool

Edit 

  1. Click Edit icon   to activate
  2. Move curser over unwanted detections
  3. Click red x to remove detection

  4. Click Edit icon again to exit
  5. To add detection back, click Edit icon and click green tick

Measurements 

  1. Bone level Measurements are enabled by default
  2. Toggle on / off for individual images by clicking the Measurements
     icon

Tooth Parts 

  1. Click Tooth Parts icon  to display Tooth Parts filter to image
  2. Click icon again to turn off
     

Save

 Click Save icon for the measurements to be saved as measure annotations (“measure line”) to the MWP viewer page 
Once the Save button is clicked, all the measurements visible on the Pearl integration page to the MWP viewer page as annotations are saved.
Notes
Please note: 
  1. If the image in MWP is not calibrated the measurements in the viewer will be shown in pixels rather than millimeters. 
  1. The maximum number of measurements are saved which matches the numbers in the Pearl viewer in case the detections are set to low.

Other Image Adjustment Tools

Changes apply to the current view only and are not saved
 Click Reset View icon to Return image to the original orientation
 Hover over Brightness icon to access the adjustment slider
 Hover over Contrast icon to access the adjustment slider
 Hover over Zoom icon to access zoom controls
 Toggle image inversion with a single click of the Invert icon
 Adjust image clarity (sharpness) via slider by clicking the Pearl Enhanced View icon.
(Once the slider is selected in an image, the setting remains the same for all the images in the Pearl integration page.)
 Click the Rotate icon for 90° clockwise rotation per click
 Horizontal flip with a single click of the Flip icon 

Status Indicators

  1. Tick box to select an image or images
  2. Currently selected (active) image thumbnailed is in a  blue frame

  3. Click Send to send images to the Second Opinion AI server for analysis

  4. Sent images in progress have a yellow border and In Progress button displayed

  5. The green outer frame indicates that the AI results have been delivered
  6. The pathology indicator labels thumbnails as small colour circles
  7. Click Resend In the case something is wrong in the detections, the image can be resent

  8. The  icon is visible once image has been sent and displays status information for the image from Second Opinion

  9. If an Image analysis has failed it will have a red border

  10. By clicking on the  icon, the reason the image was failed will be displayed.
  11. In this example, the Image is older than the allowed range in AI

Detections

Detections can be viewed on greyscale images. It can show what caries are present and various other detections.
Any image with Second Opinion detections will have Green status indicator.

Confidence Slider

Filter displayed detections based on confidence levels. 
  1. Click desired confidence levels to be displayed
  2. Numbers indicate how many detections are found under each confidence level
    1. Human: Only human verified detections
    2. High: High confidence and human verified detections
    3. Medium: High, medium and human verified detections
    4. Low: All confidence levels including human verified detections

AI Viewer Panel

Pathology Controls

  1. Untick Pathology to hide all pathology from view
  2. Untick a pathology type to hide from view e.g. Calculus
    1. Coloured circles indicate pathology type
    2. Numbers indicate count per pathology

Non-Pathology Controls

  1. Untick Non-Pathology to hide all Non-Pathology from view
  2. Untick Non-Pathology type to hide from view e.g. Filling
    1. Grey circles indicate the occurrence count

Show Grey Lesions for Clinician-Removed Detections 

Pathology detections are displayed in pink, then turn to grey once removed by clinicians to clearly indicate that it has been previously removed.
