Setup Other Appointment Book Features in Dental4Windows

Set to use templates for Manual Appointment SMS / Email Notifications and Reminders setting and change appointment book slot duration. 

Use Templates for Manual Appointment SMS / Email Notifications and Reminders

The below setting must be activated to design SMS and E-mail template reminders for appointments.

1. Go to Location Setup > General tab 
2. Group: Appointment Book
1. Use Templates for Appointment SMS/E-mail Notifications and Reminders SMS: Yes
   
   

Next, Setup Manual Appointment Reminders SMS / Email Templates

Change Appointment Book Slot Duration

Standard/Linear appointment books can be setup with a slot duration of as little as 5 minutes. Follow the below steps to change the duration either on a template or on one appointment day.

 Change Slot Duration on Template

1. Go to Appointment Book > Options menu > Setup All Books
2. Highlight the book to make changes on
3. Click Templates
1. Click the Add New Start Date icon
   
   
1. Enter the date the change is to take effect
2. Click OK
2. Right click anywhere on the template day > Select Template Parameters
   
   
3. Enter the Slot Duration
   
   
4. Click OK
4. Repeat for all other days if applicable
5. Select Whole Template radio button
6. Click Apply to the Book's days
   
   
7. Click Exit
   

Make Appointed By Mandatory

When scheduling an appointment, the Appointed By field can be made mandatory to ensure staff select their name for reporting purposes. 

Setup Appointed By Mandatory to force staff to select who make the appointment. 

The Patient Bookings - Appointed By report shows details of who made bookings.
