Lab Jobs can be created in the Treatment or Treatment Plan pages so that they can be attached to the relevant treatment item/s.  Create, Modify, Add Lab Work Stages with Due Dates, Process and Complete. Records are Stored and Saved within the Patient File for quick access and also recorded in the Lab Job page.

Once Laboratories have been setup you can then create Lab Jobs as needed

Creating & Managing Individual Lab Jobs

Click the navigation menu > Patients > Treatment Plan page or Treatment page 

Create a Lab Job

  1. Highlight the item row to attach the Lab Job too 
    1. Menu name Lab Jobs > New Lab Jobs.. or click the L column field

  2. In the New Lab Sheet
    1. Category of Work: Select relevant category
    2. Laboratory: Select the lab to assign the job to
    3. Technician: Select to assign the job to a specific person (optional)
    4. Work Description: Enter notes for the technician
    5. Items:
      1. Item: Select the item number(s) for this job
      2. Fee: If known, enter the fee
      3. Tooth: Enter the tooth ID
      4. Quantity: Enter the quantity
    6. Work Stages:
      1. Stage: Select from the list
      2. Date, Time Due: Manually enter or click icon to search patients' next appointment  
      3. Date, Time Done: Leave blank until the job is completed
    7. Created: Ensure the date and by are correct
    8. Job Finished: Leave until the job is completed
    9. Other Info:
      1. Case: Enter the case, e.g. VMK
      2. Shade: Enter the colour, e.g. A3
    10. PRINT the lab job
    11. OK create but do not print

    12. Crown jobs allow further editing of the image before printing
      1. Click Pen to draw on the image
      2. Click OK when Image editing is complete
      3. Print the lab sheet

  3. When a lab job is present, the following icon will appear in the L column of the item row in the Treatment Plan / Treatment page

Modify an Existing Laboratory Job

Over the course of a laboratory job it may be updated for accurate tracking. For example, if the lab job is returned and incorrect. 
There are 3 ways a Lab jobs can be modified/edited. 
  1. Click on the  icon in the L treatment column
    1. Make changes to the Lab Sheet
    2. Click PRINT or OK

  2. Lab Jobs menu > Lab Jobs List
    1. Double left click on the job row
    2. Make changes to the Lab Sheet
    3. Click PRINT or OK
    4. Click EXIT

  3. Click the navigation menu > Laboratories > Lab Jobs page (see more about the Lab Jobs page below)
    1. Double click on the job row
    2. Make changes to the Lab Sheet
    3. Click PRINT or OK 

Add/Remove Multiple Stages within a Lab Job

There are some cases where there are many stages to a Lab Job.
Typical dental cases may be for dentures where the process of constructing the denture may take many steps.
Lab Job Stages can be added and removed at the time of creating the Lab Sheet or by editing existing
Add a Stage
  1. Open the Lab Sheet
  2. Work Stages: Click Add icon (for as many stages as required for this job, each can be differing due dates)
Remove a Stage
  1. Open the Lab Sheet
  2. Highlight the unwanted Stage row and select Delete icon

Accept a Lab Job as Completed

From the Patient pages:
  1. Click the navigation menu > Patients > Treatment page or Treatment Plan page
  2. Click on the icon in the L column
    1. Enter the Date, Time Done for each stage if required
  3. If all jobs are completed, tick Job Finished box
  4. Click OK

From the Lab Jobs page:
  1. Click the navigation menu > Laboratories > Lab Jobs page
  2. Double click on the lab job
    1. Enter the Date, Time Done for each stage if required
  3. If all jobs are completed, tick Job Finished
  4. Click OK

Delete an Existing Laboratory Job

There are 2 ways a Lab jobs can be deleted. 
Delete from Patient Records:
  1. Click the navigation menu > Patients > Treatment page or Treatment Plan page
  2. Lab Jobs menu > Lab Jobs List
  3. Highlight the lab job row from list
  4. Click DELETE
    1. Are you sure message: Click YES if you want to proceed
  5. Click EXIT

Delete from Laboratories: 
  1. Click the navigation menu > Laboratories > Lab Jobs page
  2. Select the lab job from list
  3. Order menu > Delete Order
  4. Are you sure you want to delete order? Click YES

Tracking All Lab Jobs

The Lab Jobs page is where all the lab jobs/orders are kept.
There are also functions that allow the user to view jobs from specific laboratories and also view jobs by stages they are at.
  1. Click the navigation menu >  Laboratories > Lab Jobs page
    1. Laboratory: Select the lab to view jobs for
    2. Technician: Select a specific person to view jobs for (optional)
    3. Work Stage: Select the stage jobs are categorised by
  2. Jobs are colour coded in the Lab Job page to represent their due status.
    1. White = Not due yet
    2. Orange = Due within 24hrs (but not today)
    3. Green = Due today (after current time) 
    4. Purple = Overdue

  3. When a job is Finished, change the Work Stage to = Finished
    1. All finished Lab Jobs will be listed here
    2. Grey = Finished

Lab Job Orders (Reports)

Lab Job registers and reports are found in: the navigation menu > Laboratories > Lab Job page 
Menu name > Orders 

Lab Jobs by Due Date Report

The Lab Jobs by Due Date report generates a list of all lab jobs with their date and time due, when the date due is specified in the report parameters.
Each job has details of the Lab, Date and Time Due, Patient, Work Category, Stage and Order Number.
  1. Orders > Lab Jobs by Due Date
  2. Report Parameters:
    1. Date range: Select the period to base this report on
    2. Work Stage: Select a work stage name or All from drop list
    3. Click to tick or untick the tick boxes to select:
      1. Laboratories: Select the labs to base this report on
      2. Providers: Select the Providers to include in this report
    4. To select what information goes into the report:
      1. Select from the Columns available on the left
      2. Click ADD
      3. The selection is dropped into Sort columns on the right
      4. Repeat for each selection
    5. Click OK
  3. Report Details: 

Lab Jobs by Technician

The Lab Jobs by Technician report generates a list of all lab jobs with their date and time due for each Technician assigned to the jobs, when the date due is specified in the report parameters.
Each job has details of the Created Date, Order Number, Patient, Work Category, Work Stage, Last Stage Date/Time Done and Next Stage Date/Time Due.
  1. Orders > Lab Jobs by Technician
  2. Report Parameters:
    1. Date: Select the period to base this report on
    2. Location: Select the location name or Any Location
    3. Work stage: Select relevant work stage or All 
    4. Technicians: Click to tick or untick the tick boxes to select the Lab Technicians to include in this report
    5. Click OK

  3. Report Details: 

Technicians Work Register

The Technicians Work Register report views the details of each lab job that has been created in the selected period, the report also shows if the job is completed and who has been allocated to job.
  1. Orders > Technicians Work Register
  2. Report Parameters:
    1. Date: Select the period to base this report on
    2. Click to tick or untick the tick boxes to select:
    3. Laboratories: Select the labs to base this report on
    4. Providers: Select the Providers to include in this report
    5. Click OK
