Patient Alerts in Dental4Web

Alerts can be used for various notifications, reminders, actions and /or important information regarding the patient.
It could be a pre payment requirement note, allergy, pre medication alert or even a reminder to update address info or to fill out a consent form to name a few.
Whare are Alerts found?
- Click the navigation menu > Patients > Patients page > History tab

Setup Alert Types
Add a new Alert Type
Alert Types are used to group alerts to save from scrolling through a long list of option. Adding/Deleting Alert types can be done in any patient file
- Click Alerts icon

Click the Modify icon to add/modify Alert Types
(Check the Alert Type list for existing alerts before adding a new ones)
- In the Alert Types Window:
- Click ADD
- Alert Type: Enter the name of the new type
- Show Balance: Tick if this alert should display the patients' balance (recommended for financial alerts).
Note that at this stage, Symbol, Text Colour and Background Colour will not change the alert. - Click SAVE

- Back in the Alerts Window, click OK
Delete an Alert Type
Where an alert type has not be used, it can be deleted from the Alert type list
Click Alerts icon 
Click the Modify icon to add/modify Alert Types as above
In the Alerts Type window:
Highlight the Alert type row
Click DELETE
Click SAVE

Using Alerts
Add Alert to Patient File
- Click the Alerts icon

- In the Alerts present window:
- Click ADD to add a new Alert (or MODIFY to edit the highlighted existing)

- In the Patients Alert window:
- Alert Type: Select the relevant type from the list (follow above instructions if a new Alert Type is needed)
- Notes: Add extra information to display on the alert
- Display Alert for this areas/actions: Select the area(s)/actions to trigger the alert
- When to display: Select when the alert should be triggered
- Always: The alert will display every time the selected area/action is accessed/performed for this patient
- Always Before Date: The alert will display every time the selected area/action is accessed/performed for this patient up until this date
- Date Range: The alert will display every time the selected area/action is accessed/performed for this patient between these dates
- On This Date: The alert will appear on the selected date, time and PC selected irrespective of being in the patients' file for the period entered
- Click OK

Modify or Delete Patient Alert when Alert is Triggered
Alerts can be deleted and/or modified from either the History tab (as above) or at the time the alert is triggered.
- When an alert triggers, user can:
- Click MODIFY to update notes, dates, edit display trigger prompts etc
- Click DELETE to delete the alert from the patient file (useful for one off reminders)
- Click OK to keep the Alert as is
- If the Alert is required to continue, but you do not want to be reminded again today, Tick the Do not remind me again today box
- Outstanding Balance will show if this option was selected when the Alert Type was created

Modify or Delete Patient Alert from Patient file
Alerts can be modified or deleted directly from the Patient file
- Click the Alerts icon

- In the Alerts present window, Highlight the row
- Click MODIFY to update notes, dates, edit display trigger prompts etc
- Click DELETE to delete the alert from the patient file
