Using Documents in Dental4Windows
Import and scan to Document manager, e-mail from Document manager and view eSigned treatment plans - eSignature device.
Import to Document Manager
Files and Folders can be imported to Document Manager.
Import Folder
- Go to Patient Records > Document Mgr tab
- Documents menu > Select Add Folder
- Click Copy Folder or Move folder

- Find and select the folder to copy/move
- Click OK

Import File
- Go to Patient Records > Document Mgr tab
- Documents menu > Select Add Folder
- Click Copy Folder or Move folder

- Find and select the file to copy/move
- Click OK

Scanning to Document Manager
Capture from a Scanner
- Go to Patient Details > Document mgr tab
- Select Documents menu > Capture from Scanner

- Select the properties of the image in the Capture from Scanner window
- Click Scan

Once scanning is complete, the image/document will be automatically named and saved.
Options available from scanned images/documents
You are able to right click on the file name and select the following options:
- Open: Open the file on screen to be viewed
- Save as: Save the file to an area on the local PC
- Rename: Give the file another name
- Delete: Remove the file from the Document Manager
- E-mail: Send the file as an E-mail to someone
- Properties: View the properties of the file
E-mail from Document Manager
Its possible to send a file or folder from Document Manager via e-mail.
- Go to Patients Records > Documents mgr tab
- Select the file/folder. To select more than one, hold the Ctrl key and click additional files/folders
- Go to Documents menu > E-mail
- From: Practice e-mail automatically enters
- To: Enter the recipient e-mail address; by default the patients' e-mail is entered
- CC: Include additional e-mail addresses if required
- Subject: Enter the e-mail subject
- Attached: The selected file from Document Manager
- Enter the text to appear on the e-mail
- Click Send

View eSigned Treatment Plans - eSignature Device
Electronically signed Treatment Plans can be viewed by following these steps.
- Go to Patient Records > Document Manager tab
- Select the folder Treatment Plans
- Double-click the PDF file to view the signed treatment plan
