Setup National Dental Plan terms, fees and deposit percentage for Humm and/or Zip
Using National Dental Plan including: Payment plan on treatment plan, applications, applying deposit payment, processing remittance advice.
Setup & Manage National Dental Plan
Payment Terms
Changes to the National Dental Plan Payment Terms, Monthly Fees & Establishment Fees can be made in D4W.
Before changes are made ensure the changes have been approved by BNPL provider e.g. Humm or Zip.
NDP with Zip is not available if you are still running an older build
For Build 5808 and above
- Go to Location Setup > General
- Group: National Dental Plan > NDP Payment Terms
- Click the button to open the NDP Payment Terms window
- Select BNPL Provider (Humm or Zip) from drop down menu
- Monthly Fee: Monthly fee charged to patient
- Establishment Fee: Establishment fee charged to patient

- Click OK
- To add a New Payment Terms
- Select BNPL Provider (Humm or Zip) from drop down menu
- Click Add
- Enter Term (months)
- Enter Max Balance ($)
- Select Selectable Terms by clicking box
- Enter Deposit (%) amount (if applicable)
- Click OK

For Build 5778 or older
NDP with Zip is not available if you are still running on older builds
- Go to Location Setup > General
- Group: National Dental Plan > Establishment Fee
- HUMM Establishment fee charged to patient
- Group: National Dental Plan > Monthly Fee
- Add the HUMM fee, currently $9.95

- To add new HUMM Payment Terms
- Click Add
- Enter Term (months)
- Enter Max Balance ($)
- Select Selectable Terms by clicking box
- Enter Deposit (%) amount (if applicable)
- Click OK

Using National Dental Plan in Dental4Windows
Show Payment Plan on Treatment Plan
Those using National Dental Plan can include an estimated payment plan on Treatment Plans. Users have the choice of printing the Treatment Plan with or without the estimated payment plan calculations.
- Go to Patient Records > Treatment Plan tab > Treatment Plan menu
- Tick Include Estimated Payment Plan on the printout
Choose payment plan estimate to include on Treatment Plan printout
If using more than one BNPL (buy now pay later) Provider which estimate is to be included on Treatment Plan printout can be chosen.
- Go to Patient Records > Treatment Plan tab > Treatment Plan menu
- Print /Preview Plan... > select payment plan type

Change Zip Terms
If using Zip payment plan terms on Treatment plan printout the terms can be changed when previewing treatment plan.
- Go to Patient Records > Treatment Plan tab > Treatment Plan menu
- Print /Preview Plan... > select Zip Payment Plan
- Select from drop down list payment plan term e.g. 24 months

- Click Print
What link do I use for the access code generated in Dental4Windows?
For Dental4Windows to be integrated with the Humm application this link is required
At this link, the access code generated at Dental4Windows can be entered

Submit an Application
The patients National Dental Plan application will start from the Treatment plan tab. The patient can only have one application per Treatment Plan.
- Go to Patient records > Treatment Plan tab
- Select Treatment Plan
- Ensure the correct Provider is selected as these details are used during the application
- Select Treatment Plan menu > NDP Application
- Select items to include in the application
- Select the Responsible Party – the person responsible for payment
- The Deposit amount auto-calculates based on the minimum 20% deposit, or the financed amount to ensure borrowing amount does not exceed $12 000.00
- The Repayments will auto-calculate the fortnightly payments
- Click Submit Application

- A passcode will show onscreen. Note this down as it will be requested upon application

- Open the National Dental Plan portal, https://endp.centaurportal.com/endp/verifyPassword

- Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions
- Enter the passcode generated by Dental4Windows
- Click Verify my Access Code - The application can be opened on any device with a browser, but the Practice must fill in and verify details of the patient
Auto-adjustment of the deposit
If the amount borrowed exceeds the $20,000, the deposit that the patient pays will be automatically calculated.
- Go to Patient Records >Treatment Plan tab
- Treatment Plan menu > Select NDP Application

- Click OK

Payment - Deposit for Planned Treatment
Once the National Dental Plan has been approved and activated the payment can be received in Dental4Windows.
If the payment from National Dental Plan is for planned treatment, follow the below steps to enter the payment in Dental4Windows.
Receiving the NDP Payment
Regularly check your e-mails for a Remittance Advice/Tax Invoice from National Dental Plan

Deposit the Payment into Patient Records
- Go to Patient Records > Receipts tab
- Receipts menu > New Receipt
- Payment from: Select Third Party, National Dental Plan - Upfront
- Date: Enter the date the deposit was originally received
- Amount: Enter the amount received from the National Dental Plan
- Cheque/Deposit Name: New Plan Number from Remittance Advice - optional
- Payment Type: Select NDP Payment
- Send unapplied (deposit) amount to the following/Provider: Select NDP - Upfront NDP Provider
- Click Create

Retrieve Application in Dental4Windows
After submitting the application, update the response: (Approved/Declined/Cancelled/Communication Error) in Dental4Windows.
Submit NDP Application window
An application can be retrieved while in the Submit Certegy Application window.
- Within the Submit NDP Application window
- Click Retrieve Response
- Select Exit to complete the transaction

- A copy of the application will automatically save in Document Manager
Applications windows for an individual patient
An application can be retrieved from the NDP Applications window.
- Go to Patient Records > Find/View menu
- Select NDP Applications (Selected Family)
- Select Get New Applications
Applications windows for all patients
Retrieve and view all patient's application for the entire practice.
- Go To > NDP Applications (All Patients)
- Select Get New Applications

Apply Deposit Payments to Treatment Completed
When treatment has been completed then allocate the deposit for the payment
Allocate Deposit to Treatment Completed
As treatment is completed enter the treatment items in the treatment tab or transfer from the Treatment Plan
- Go to Patient Records > Treatment tab
- Receipts menu > New Receipt
- Select Autoallocate deposits

- Select Print or Create to save
Outstanding Balance
Once the National Dental Plan has been approved and activated the payments can be received in Dental4Windows.
If the payment from National Dental Plan has been received and is for treatment that has been completed, follow the below steps to enter the payment in Dental4Windows.
Receiving the NDP Payment

Enter Outstanding Balance Payment into Dental4Windows
- Go to Patient Records > Receipts tab
- Receipts menu > New Receipt
- Payment from: Select Third Party, National Dental Plan - Upfront
- Date: Enter the date the deposit was originally received
- Amount: Enter the amount received from the National Dental Plan
- Cheque/Deposit Name: New Plan Number from Remittance Advice - optional
- Payment Type: Select NDP Payment
- Select Autoallocate payments
If Autoallocate payments incorrectly disperse. Untick and manually allocate the payment.
- Send unapplied (deposit) amount to the following/Provider: Select NDP - Upfront NDP Provider
- Click Create

Process the Remittance Advice
Once a National Dental Plan application has been approved and activated, an email will be sent with the remittance advice advising of the payment.

Plan number: Reference number
Customer/Patient Name: The person responsible for the payment plan
Plan Status: Guarantee or Non-Guarantee
Financed Amount: The amount the patient has borrowed for the treatment. (Practice's revenue)
Term: The period the patient is taking to pay off
Humm Fees: Fees for the service - expense to the practice
Humm Fees GST: GST applied to the fee - expense to the practice
Funds transferred: The amount deposited into the allocated bank account
Receipt the payment
The Financed amount is the amount that is receipted to the patient.
- Go to Patient Records > Receipts tab
- Receipts menu > Select New Receipt
- Amount: Enter the financed amount

Process the Expense
The Humm Fees are an expense to the practice that can be entered into Dental4Windows as an expense.
- Go to Patient Records > Treatment tab
- Select the item row
- Double click on the Expenses cell

- Category: Select National Dental Plan fee

- Enter the Fee
- Click OK
Communication Error
We receive ‘Communication Error’ when there has been a break in the link between D4W and Humm, and the application has not been completed. At the ‘Retrieve Response’ window, there is an opportunity to discard this application. If the application is not discarded, then you will not be able to re-submit the application from the same treatment plan. Because within D4W it will indicate that an application has been completed for the treatment plan. If the application is not discarded at the ‘Retrieve Response’ window, then the application can be discarded at the 'NDP Applications (Selected Family)' or 'NDP Applications (All Patients)' windows.
- Go to Patient File > Find/View > NDP Applications (Selected Family)
- Select the patient /applicant from the list
- Right click and select Discard Application

- Select the patient/application from the list
- Right click and select Discard Application
