Study template can be created to manage the study case for each patient.
- Go to menu > Study...
- Click on a Study template
- Add Study name (optional)
- Select a Colour Label from drop down list

- Click OK
- Drag and drop the images into the Study template
- Close the Study template to save the changes
Add Images to existing Study
Follow the below instructions to add images to an existing Study.
- Within MediaSuite > Double-click the study to open it

- Drag and drop image to a section of the study by holding left-click mouse button

Operations within a Study
The operations can be performed within the study by
- Double mouse click on the required study in the left toolbar (The object will be present in the screen)
- Right-click on the study and click Properties/Diagnoses...

- In the Process Properties/Diagnoses window, enter the study notes as well as change the study name and colour label

- Click Print, Export or Email the full study template along with the all individual images comprising this study
- Individual images in the study can be opened by double-clicking the corresponding image
- Multi-select images by:
- Hold Ctrl key
- Select images (Up to 9 images can be opened simultaneously)
- Right-click and select Open
- Any image can be dismounted (removed from the study) by right-clicking on the image and selecting Dismount selected

Radiological Log Report
The radiology log report depicts the details of all exposures to the patient over the period the report is run for.
- Click Go To menu > Reports...
- Enter From and To dates of report
- Tick Current patient if report is to be run on current patient
- If report is to be run on a different patient, untick Current patient
- Enter patients ID number in Object ID
- Tick Radiology log
- Click Run

Date: Date of exposure
Patient: Patients name
Card Num: Patients ID number in Dental4Windows
Accession No.: Sequential Number of x-ray taken
Provider: Number of provider in Dental4Windows to take the x-ray
Modality: DICOM Modality
Last Radio Date: Date last x-ray was taken
KV: Kilo Volts
mA: Milliamps
ms: Milliseconds
Preferences - Application
Custom filters and user defined filters can be setup allowing each provider to setup their own filter preferences.
- Go to Go To menu > Preferences

- Application tab

- Image display
- Activate Windows Smoothing: Turn on Windows smoothing OFF/ON
- Open image(s) in new viewpoint(s).: Image will be open in viewpoint by default (if possible)

- Display on object icons
- Tick which data is shown under thumbnails in MediaSuite
- Internet upgrade reminder
- Setup the period for upgrade reminder
- Production
- Select Production or Pilot from drop list for the internet upgrade
- E-mail settings (see section below for further instructions)
- Names of exported objects
- Tick which fields to use when naming export files/image
- Tooth Numbering
- Select which tooth numbering to use in Mediasuite
- Media Categories
- Click Add to new Media Category
- Type in new Media Category name
- Highlight Media Category to be deleted
- Click Delete
- Click Yes
- Image changes update
- Update on the mouse stop: Apply changes when mouse stops or not moving
- Delay's: Select seconds to delay the mouse
- Click OK
Custom filters and user defined filters can be setup allowing each provider to setup their own filter preferences.

- Click Tools tab

- Colourise: Select the preferred default colour to be used with Colourise
- Show Emboss Dialog: Untick to disable the Emboss options dialog
- Filter setup

- Filter: There are up to 4 user defined filters (providers)
- Hot Key: A hot key can be assigned to each individual filter (e.g. CTRL + N)
- Caption: Changes the filter from Filter 1 to the defined text (e.g. Flipped)
- Setup:

Convert to greyscale: Converts the image to a black and white greyscale image
Convert to 8bit: Converts the image to an 8bit colour image
Negate: Creates a negative image
Auto Contrast: Performs an Auto Contrast on the image
Equalize: Converts the image to a desired setting
Median: Converts the image to a desired setting
Despeckle: Removes speckles from the image
Noise: Adds/removes noise in the image
Smooth: Smoothens the image
Sharp: Sharpens the image
Brightness: Increases/Decreases brightness of the image
Contrasts: Increases/Decreases contrast of the image
Gamma: Increases/Decreases gamma of the image
LL/UL: Increases/Decreases luminosity of the image
Auto LL/UL: Automatically adjusts the luminosity of the image
Use Power: Controls the intensity of the Auto LL/UL filter
Orientation - Rotate: Rotate the image a pre determined degrees
Flip Horizontally: Mirrors the image horizontally
Flip Vertically: Mirrors the image vertically
Reset: Reset the filters to the default settings
Test: Previews the setting
Reset Test: Restores the image
OK: Click OK to close the window - Customizable text annotations setup (dentist annotations)
Mediasuite allows for four tools to create user defined text annotations. This allows for text annotations to be created once but used numerous times without needing to create again. - Text annotations: Select from one of the four options

- Hot Key: This is a keyboard shortcut to add the text annotation to an image (e.g. F2)

- Caption: Enter a heading for the Customizable Text Annotation

- Setup: Write any text to display on an image

- The Customizable Text Annotations can now be added to the image and also with the Hot Key

This option is not available in the Lite version of MediaSuite
E-mail Settings
Images can be e-mailed from Mediasuite. The e-mail settings need to be configured correctly.
- Go to Go To menu > Preferences

- Application sub-tab
- Click E-mail settings

- User Windows Default E-mail Client: Tick this if you are going to use the installed e-mail client (e.g. Outlook)

- User Location setting: Tick to use location setting, otherwise global settings apply

- Click OK

Basic Auth Option for E-mail Setup
- Server Internet Address: Enter Internet provider SMTP server address
- Server Port Number: Enter the SMTP Port Number
- Select SSL or TLS
- Server Timeout (sec): 60 (default)
- Server Login: Enter server email address
- Server Password: Enter server password
- Sender Mail Address: Enter practice email address
OAuth2 Option for E-mail Setup
- Select Provider from menu
- Enter E-mail address
- Click Authenticate
- You will be directed to page of Provider selected to sign in
- Once e-mail address has been authenticated return to MediaSuite
- Click OK

Reports
This report generates a list of all images taken in Mediasuite.
Run the Report
- Go to menu > Select Reports...
- Dates: Select the period to base this report on
- Actions: Select which action/s to how on the report
- Current patient: If ticked only searches the current patients data, if unticked all patient’s data is searched
- Object ID: When an image is saved in Mediasuite it assigned a unique (sequential) ID (number); this is Object’s (or image’s Object ID). If specified only data for a specific image is reported, if blank all images are reported
- Special Actions: Select which action to display on the report
- Staff members: Select the staff responsible for the images
- Locations: Select the Location o base this report on, if applicable

- Click Run

Date: Date when Action was performed
Time: Date when Action was performed
Patient: Patient's name
Card Num: Patient's D4W card number
User: Current Provider as passed from Dental4Windows when Action was performed
Action: Mediasuite action being reported
PC name: Name of PC where Action was performed
Location: Location as passed from D4W when Action was performed
Object ID: Unique identifier of the image that had Action performed
- Export formats: Select export format
- Open exported file: Tick to open exported file
- Selection to Clipboard: Will copy the selected data to the clipboard:
