Listed below is how to view MediaSuite images including studies and 3D volumes.

Open Image

Open the selected picture contained in the system on the screen.
  1. Highlight the required icon/picture/image/x-ray in the left part of the screen
  2. Media menu > Open

  3. The selected /picture/image/x-ray is now in the main screen

Close All

The Close All option allows the user to close all open images and or studies.

  1. Go to View menu > Close All

View Studies Only

The View Study Only option allows the user to view only a list of study cases in the toolbar on the left side of the screen. 

View Studies Only

  1. Go to View menu > View Studies Only or click icon
     

View Studies and Images

  1. Untick the View Studies Only icon to view the Studies and all images will display

Close all images in Mediasuite viewports 

  1. Go to View menu > Close All

Zoom mode

The Zoom mode enables the user to enlarge or decrease the image size. 
  1. Double click on the image (The image will be present in the screen) 
  2. Go to View menu > Zoom mode
  3. Click the Mode icon  or
  4. Scroll the mouse forward and backwards to Zoom the image 

View > Fit to Window

The Fit to Window allows fitting the size of the picture to the size of the window.
  1. Double click on the required object in the left toolbar  (The object will be present in the screen) 
  2. View menuFit to Window

    1. Or click the Fit to Window icon in the top toolbar

      1. If the original size of the picture is greater, then it is reduced to fit in the window

      2. Vice versa, when the original size is smaller than the window size, the former will be enlarged 

View Images & Documents

On the left side of the Mediasuite screen, you can view all images and/or documents or specific to a device. 
  1. If you have a long list of saved images/documents you can use the scroll bar to move up and down
  2. You can save an image or document in one of the media categories in the drop down list
    1. This will allow you to view only what is in the selected category

Viewing Multiple Images

Mediasuite allows multiple images to be viewed at once. There are two ways to view multiple images.
  1. Go to View menu > Select Square options or
  2. Select Square icons 

  3. Double click on the image (The object will be present in the screen) or
  4. Click and drag image to desired square
  5. Repeat as necessary

View Mediasuite Images in Charting

If Mediasuite is being used, thumbnails of the images can be viewed in 2D and 3D Charting tabs. 
  1. Go to Patient Records > Charting tab
  2. File/View menu > Select Show Images-Video-CMS

InfoIf the patient has any images in MediaSuite, the thumbnails will be displayed here. Double click an image to preview it in Dental4Windows (if enabled, see Enable High Resolution Preview of MediaSuite Images).


Open and View 3D Volume

A 3D volume can be opened in all the same ways a 2D image can be opened from Dental4Windows and Mediasuite.

NotesThere is one exception. In Mediasuite if the thumbnail is dragged to the main window, the 3D volume will not open in 3D mode.

  1. Double click on the thumbnail to the left to open the 3D volume to view
  2.  Used to display 2D or 3D images e.g. have 2D images open to correlate to the 3D image.  “X” in red box closes the 3D window
  3.  Displays details of the volume, can be minimised by dragging the left edge to the left
  4.  Restores settings to their original settings
  5.  Applies Auto Contrast\Brightness tool
  6.  The Contrast and Brightness of the image can be manipulated by left-click-hold on the image and moving the mouse up and/or down.  Up movement will adjust ContrastDown movement will adjust Brightness.The “C” and “W” counters show the current values of Contrast and Brightness respectively.  These values can also be adjusted using their up/down arrows.
  7.  Used to set zoom of display to “Best Fit” or “100%”
  8.  Shows current zoom setting.  Zoom can be adjusted by moving the slider to the left or right
  9.  Enables navigation of the volume “slices” by moving the slider left or right.  The arrow buttons can be used to move to the next or previous “slice” of the 3D volume
  10.  Pressing this button will invoke “Autoplay” mode, whereby the slices are displayed sequentially.  There are 6 speeds, 0 (stopped) to 5 (fastest), these are controlled by mouse keys, left for faster, right for slower.  The speeds will cycle 0-5-0 ...  To stop “Autoplay”

Restore Deleted Objects

If an image has been deleted in error it can be retrieved.
  1. Go to View menu > Display deleted objects

  2. Right-click on a deleted image thumbnail > Restore deleted objects

Terminal Server Bridge > Image Recovery

CMScan stores all images captured on the local pc where the image was taken and keeps them for 14 days. It is possible to recover the images stored at any time within these 14 days in case of accidental deletion, etc.
  1. Once the connection to the Terminal Server is restored launch MediaSuite
    1. Bring up the correct patient
    2. Click the  button to start the Terminal Server Bridge
  2. File menu > Recovery (Objects recovery interface will come up)
  3. Select View 
    1. Select Offline radio button
    2. Find the images to recover on the left of the screen  
    3. Select the files needed by marking the tick box
    4. Click Recover selected objects

  4. The Image Processing screen will appear as normal

Terminal Server Bridge > Wrong Patient name entered when in offline mode


If a patient's name entered into CMScan while in Offline Mode does not match the patient's record open in Mediasuite, CMScan Image Recovery generates a prompt. For example: the patient Charlie Canceri is entered into CMScan as Charlie Cancerri.

  1. Select images from the Mediasuite Scanner Image Recovery window
    1. Where the name in differs in Mediasuite a mismatch prompt will appear

  2. Click Yes if the patient is correct
  3. All selected images are saved into MediaSuite under the correct patient's name

Terminal Server Bridge > Offline Mode

Terminal Server Bridge can save images to local PC, this allows customers to continue to save their files if there is an issue connecting to the Terminal Server.

Notes
MediaSuite will allow the user to work in an 'Offline' mode, saving the images temporarily and then transferring them manually into MediaSuite once the connection is re-established.

  1. Start Mediascan ((Offline) Media Suite Scanner)
  2. File menu > Offline mode

  3. Click the device icon

  4. In the 'Patients detail' window
    1. Enter the patient’s name (Ensure the spelling is correct as later it will use this name to try to find a match in MediaSuite).
    2. Click OK

  5. Capture the image and preview it in the Capture interface 

Thumbnails and Presentations on sidebar

The Presentation feature allows for single or multiple images to be viewed in one window.
  1. Right-click on the thumbnails area 
  2. Select image/s (left hand side)
    1. Go to View menu or right-click on the image/s > Presentation

  3. The presentation can be viewed as a single image or filmstrip
    1. Any single image can be viewed full screen by clicking on the image
