Understanding the Dental4Web General Settings page

There are hundreds of General Settings within D4Web.

Some are preset to ensure accurate use of a module or feature and some are customisable and can be set to meet your practice preferences.

Where to find General Settings

Click the navigation menu > Location Setup > General page

Apply General Settings to Individual PC or Location

General Settings can be applied to an individual PC or the whole location. 

 Setting will apply to the current PC only 

 Setting will apply to all PC's at this location 

 This is a Global setting, and is for all locations 

The settings that are considered Global cannot be altered to individual

To change the setting from Location to Individual, or vice-versa:

Double click on the icon

Search for a General Setting

Simple Searches

1. Group and Manual search
   
1. Drop the Group list and select from the available groups
   

   
   

   

   Some of these groups may not be visible in your system
2. Use the scroll bar on the right to look through the list of settings available in the selected group
   
2. Setting Name search:
   
1. Enter keywords of the setting (i.e. Receipt)
   
2. Click FIND
   
3. All the Settings with your setting name will be listed
   
4. Select the relevant setting and make changes as needed
   

Advanced Search

1. Setting Name: Enter keywords of the setting (i.e. Receipt)
   1. And / Or: Joins or separates the Setting Name and Value entries      
   2. Setting Value: Enter the selected option, e.g. Yes / No
2. Tick Show Advanced Search Options 
   1. Computer: Select computer to search                                                                                
3. Show Advanced Programming Settings: Only Centaur Employees have the ability to search this
4. Search in all possible drop list values: Search all possibilities available
5. Click FIND
